Finally decided to fill in the gaps in my smile. I've rang around a few dental clinics in Dublin and have quite a range of prices. Their websites have testimonials, really would appreciate advice in how to choose one. I don't know anyone who has had implant to even ask them.

    Thanks in advance

Have you a regular dentist gotin? This is probably the best place to start anyway. Implants are fantastic but not suitable for everyone and other options to replace missing teeth also exist. You'd need to be sure you have no active dental/gum disease first to ensure a healthy mouth and the best environment to place potential implants.

Assuming thats all ok then your options are a dentist who has done extra training in implant work or a specialist. Where the spaces are, is there enough bone present or will a bone graft be required first, how high your smile line is etc might determine if your case is very straight forward or more complex. Many general dentists do implant work, some more than others, and usually on straightforward cases. Difficult cases because of the factors above might be referred to a specialist. Oral surgeons are the most common people in this category. They generally do a lot of implant work and can provide services like bone grafting if needed. They usually place the implant only though and either get the referring dentist to do the crown or work in tandem with a crown specialist to do this.

Price ranges between providers for a range of reasons but equipment and expertise are factors. The higher price you've probably seen are usually pretty standard between providers and is the usually baseline.

Best bet is talk to your own dentist or if you don't have one ask friends/family for a recommendation. Make sure you're suitable first and don't be afraid to get a second opinion for expensive work. Good luck!

Thank you so much Mush500. I have had the gaps for years so I wouldn't be surprised if grafts might be required. I used to live in Belfast and my regular dentist is up there. I feel for something so invasive I should keep it as local as possible. If things go wrong I really don't fancy travelling up North. As you say I'd need to get a couple of opinions before deciding.😷

I'm actually in Greystones, but Dublin seems to offer the more options.
