    Hi all.

I have a biasi b30/4 oil fired boiler with riello burner. Oil tank is full.

It now will not come on unless over-ride button is pressed on burner many times.

Then it cuts out after about an hour.

Any ideas on what the issue might be?

    Thanks.

When you press the reset button, does the burner attempt to start and then go to lockout?, or does nothing happen when you press the reset button once?

attempts to start and goes to lockout.

does the burner sound the same when its trying to start or is the fan noise barely audible

fan only seems to cut in when it actually starts

sounds like you may have a faulty start capacitor

So my reading is that the motor and fan doesnt run and then it goes to lock out.If this is so, then jim has called it correct and it looks like it could be the capacitor

thanks guys, presume the capacitor be about a tenner?

when you press the reset button listen very closely and you will possibly hear a very low humming sound

closer to 15 for a riello capacitor i would think

most likely a capacitor issue but maybe a fuel pump issue as well

but id be fairly confident its the capacitor
