contactless card

    My debit card no longer works for paypass/paywave payments and its due to be replaced in 01/2016. Can I get it replaced before then for free or will I be charged?

    Good Afternoon Dr.kenneth noisewater,

    Thank you for getting in touch on Boards.ie.

    If your card is faulty through no fault of your own (i.e it has not been physically damaged) and needs to be replaced, we will issue this free of charge. However, we would suggest bringing the card to an ATM and entering your PIN first though. This may "unlock" the card for use at a POS. If you do need to replace this card you can call 0818365365, select option 1 followed by the * button. 

    You can also order this card through the Online Service Desk on your 365 Online profile. Choose Re-order Card from the drop down menu, and select 'The card will not operate in ATM/POS machine'. The card will be issued, and be received by you within 7-10 working days.

    Card works fine at ATM and used to work for paywave. Will I have to pay for a new card? If so I'll just wait for replacement in January

    Hi Dr.Kenneth noisewater,

    If you call BOI Direct they will be able to check the card for you to determine the problem. If it cannot be repaired due to a fault on our side, we will issue a replacement to you free of charge. They will be able to keep your current card active while you wait for your replacement. This card will replace any card due to go out due to expiration -i.e you will not receive another card in January.
