    05 Mondeo petrol

    Failed on emissions

    Low idle
    (795 rpm) CO .69 vol% FAIL above .5
    HC 161 ppm N/A above 0 ppm

    High idle
    (2822 rpm) Lambda 1.01 PASS
    CO .69 vol % FAIL above .3
    HC 96 ppm PASS

    What's the fix for it??

Any fault codes? Has it been serviced recently?

There could be many reasons it failed, from a leaky hose to a faulty sensor to crapped out converter. Get codes read by a mechanic.
As asked, when was last service? What was done at service?

No fault codes came up on Monday when in with him.

    It was all clear there.
Service has not been done in a while. As only got it. And previous owner had it laying up or so he said.
Been driving it a week before test.
    But no faults.

It's not out by much. It's blowing a tad too much carbon monoxide, and given the absence of OBD-II DTCs I'd be inclined to give it a good service - including plugs - and take it for a decent gallop. Your garage should be able to re-test the exhaust quickly and cheaply.

What kind of mileage is on it? Any oil consumption?

Hi no fault code on car when checked on Monday.
And the service has no been done in a while
As previous owner didn't do one since 30k ago.
Plus off the road for a good while.

Yeah that what I was thinking.
Was going to give it to full works tomorrow on a service.
Do the plugs and filter and what not.
    110k km
No oil seems fine. Been checking it daily before use.
Slight noise from front prob a blow in exhaust. Can't see anything do.
    May be that??

Mmm. You mean the manifold area, upstream of the Lambda sensor? The Lambda is reading a tad lean alright, but that wouldn't account for the CO.

    Yeah in or around there.
Not sure. Have to get onto ramp to check.
Yeah think the CO is service

At least get oil, oil filter and air filter done.
Throw in a bottle of redex fuel system cleaner.

Yeah will get a service kit, do it tomorrow.
Will change plugs out as well. Least I know that's done.
Will use redex too. Drive over weekend.
Get it checked and booked back in.
Thanks for the info. Was just worried it might have been worse.
Fingers crossed it not to bad.
