It's a really boring schedule of games this week...Sunday night should be good but there's little else to be excited about.

Payton Manning missed Broncos practice today with a foot injury. Apparently he has been hurt since week 2 but this is the first time he has missed practice. Kubiak reported him as questionable for the game against the Chiefs but expected him to play.

Ware is out but Sean Ray returned to practice. Sanders also missed practice after being banged up v the Colts but is expected to play.

Thing is that you hear these rumours all the time about backups but nobody really has any notion of how they are doing until they step on the field as a starter for a game.

Yeah, there was loads of chat about him for the last couple of years and he might never play in the NFL again. I never heard a thing about Hoyer or Cassel and they have done a semi-decent job as starters.

Brady might never have got an opportunity only for the injury to Bledsoe.

i think brady would have gotten an opportunity somewhere. obviously nobody could have foretold just how well hes done but there where whispers of talent being there he would have gotten a chance but maby only one. crazy thing is if a young brady played for the browns for example he may not have made it. it makes you wonder how many guys have been missed out on.

Yeah it's a very interesting part of the game for me. A guy like Brad Sorensen who has been bounced around by the Chargers being part of their practice squad and then with Tennessee and then back to the Chargers PS again. This guy for me is good enough to play in the NFL. I just cannot understand for the life of me why some team hasn't snapped him up and at least put him in a QB battle during Training Camp.

Then you have a guy like Charlie Whitehurst who the Chargers kept on their roster for a couple of years and Pete Carroll went and paid a third round draft pick for him. I just don't get that, I never thought Whitehurst was ever going to be good enough but got plenty of time on rosters in the NFL.

Alot of predictions for the Jets in here, its the first week this season that I have virtually no confidence in them getting the win. The injuries have just kept piling up this week and I can see the Bills exploiting the injury hit areas! I hope I'm wrong but my money is definitely on the Bills this week

I can't wait to see the game tonight. As RDS mentioned, the slate of games on Sunday is gash. But the games tonight and the games in Seattle, Oakland, Metlife and Denver all look interesting, with tonight's game very interesting.

It is close to an eliminator for Buffalo. And if the Jets can sneak a win tonight, looking at their schedule, you would have to give them a chance of getting 10 wins. A loss will make the trip to Houston very dicey.

running backs are the worst for me i felt that way about dion lewis and i feel that way about bryce brown now there are definitely guys that would have been hall of famers that have never played in the nfl

The 1988 Patriots have called, they want their uniforms back.
I wonder if Fitzpatrick's hand is bothering him, I know he is not top tier, but even for him he is throwing the ball poorly.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,319 ✭✭✭Al_Coholic

what an awful first half by the Jets,i know they have injuries in crucial areas but the offense is soooooooooooooo bad

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,052 ✭✭✭poldebruin

Wow, the Bill are really handing it to the Jets tonight. If the Jets don't get something here the game could get out of hand quick.
In truth Buffalo look so comfortable on both sides of the ball tonight, I'd be amazed if they don't cruise the rest of the way.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,052 ✭✭✭poldebruin

...or they could just fumble the ball away to Buffalo on their first play....

The Jet's decision to go for it on 4th down early in the 4th quarter looks curious now they have bulled within 5. A FG would win them the game had they took the FG earlier. Need a TD now. Surprised they have made a game of it tbh, they looked absolutely awful for 3 quarters.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 981 ✭✭✭Lionbacker

And the Jets are right back in it. Should make for a interesting final few minutes.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,052 ✭✭✭poldebruin

Hate those 3rd and 4th down throws that don't go beyond the 1st down marker.....Jets have mismanaged this. They should be in the lead now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,450 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Since they went up by 19 it looks like the Bills want to throw this away. Surreal errors going on here.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,052 ✭✭✭poldebruin

That's how you pick up a 3rd and 2.....Bills make it look simple. None of this quick throw to the WR with the CB ready to jump all over it. That should do it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,450 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

    All over, Bills win :)

Decent drive by the Bills to give the Jets so little time, after doing nothing during the whole 4th quarter & the defence finish it off.

Was at the game. Good atmosphere. Jetsam is a legend. Simultaneously stupid and brilliant.

Apparently last night was a nightmare to watch for any colour blind people. In hindsight, I'm not sure how that wasn't thought of sooner.

Its odd that i have never heard this being a complaint in sports outside of the US where the whole colour vs white jerseys has never been a thing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,477 ✭✭✭✭Knex*

I think its more that the most common form of colour blindness is not being able to differentiate green and red, so last night would have been essentially looking at teams in the exact same kit, for a lot of people.

In soccer, for example, its rare that you would have two kits exactly the same, just a different colour.

I'm not colourblind so I can't say that I really know for sure, though.

Genuinely was frustrating. As if not being able to be a Top Gun pilot wasn't bad enough, now they don't want me to be able to figure out what teams were which. The one thing was that I was able to assume the guy dropping the ball was Watkins... he was pretty shoddy...

League have admitted they didn't account for the colourblind. Sadly there's 3 more of these games before the experiment is canned.

Had no idea there was so many people colourblind. 8% apparently.

It's not being canned. Every team is getting the new uniform treatment for Thursday Night Football next season. This is just the start.

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/11/13/nfl-will-factor-colorblindness-into-future-color-rush-games/
“The Color Rush jerseys are a test for four games this season, the first of which was last night,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told PFT by email. “We did test the jerseys this summer on field and on television. The standard television test did not account for color blindness for fans at home that became apparent last night. We will enhance our testing to include a color blindness analysis to better address this issue in the future.”

The next three “Color Rush” games will include Week 11 (Titans-Jaguars), Week 12 (Panthers-Cowboys), and Week 15 (Buccaneers-Rams). And since it’s a “test” for this year, there’s no guarantee that the “Color Rush” will be back in 2016.

Doesn't mention anywhere there that it's being canned. All the teams are on board with this and since there's money to be made, then I'd be shocked if it got dumped. Even the NFL spokesman in the piece you quoted said "we will enhance our testing to include a color blindness analysis to better address this issue in the future". No hint it's being canned, but they will address the issue in future.

If it makes money then the NFL will keep it.
