Opel Zafira 2004 2.0 dti losing power

As the title suggests my 2.0 liter dti automatic Zafira is losing power and the engine light comes on. It usually happens when you're accelerating, somewhere between 40-60kph, especially when you're going up a hill. It just happened to my wife though when she was doing 120 on the motorway so I really want to get it sorted.

My father in law owned it from new and when he had a similar problem before it was eventually fixed by a new EGR valve. The EGR seems to be a known issue with them so I got the mechanic I've been using to clean the EGR valve but it hasn't helped, if anything it's gotten worse although to be fair it was getting worse before he looked at it. He did say the valve wasn't too bad when he took it out.

My mechanic is in one of those drive through service centers but we had been happy with work he'd done before. They are looking for 60 euro for a full diagnostic but to be honest I'm not too confident in them being able to fully diagnose and resolve the issue.

Anyone have suggestions for someone in Dublin, preferably north side to look at it? Or any ideas what it might be?

That could be a vacuum or intercooler hose, or any of a few things. Hard to say without a diag scan.

I had heard that similar issues were caused by leaking hoses alright. It would make sense alright. Any recommendations for a mechanic in North Dublin?
