Micra K12 Air Filter Box Connection

    Hi all,

    Need to repair the OH micra the air intakepipe that comes from the grill to the air box/filter has come apart i have tried tec 7 but it must has to much vibration as the seal has come apart would a jubilee clip be ok and pass nct?

    It currently sounds like a Subaru when the pipe is off
    not a great photo as its from google but you can see the pipe joins the airbox

    The problem is, as you pointed out, vibrations. You can try with a clip, it should pass nct.
    Check with a local breakers and see if they have the part for a tenner or so.

    Are you saying it has split along the seam? If so you could try tec7 to seal it, then wrap it in duct tape. You can even get black duct tape for that stealth look.

    (Or if you don't want to bodge it, you could go to a breakers yard :D)

    No its designed to come apart by the looks of it but just doesn't twist and click back in to the air box housing looks like the two little guides are snapped off.

    Think i will bodge it with a jubilee clip its 10yrs old and has 160k miles! on it

    Had the same issue myself. Black duct tape done the job. It's not nessessarly an 'airtight' joint so I wouldn't get too fussy with it.
