Job seekers allowance question

    Hello guys,

I lost my job on the 5th of October and I applied for job seekers subsequently and got it. I'm starting a new job in another county on the 4th of January so I have nearly two months to kill. I was hoping to go abroad and volunteer in a foreign country for the month of December. Since I have been collecting my job seekers allowance on a weekly basis from my local post office, does this mean I will miss out on it for December or is there another way around it. Thanks

No way around it ,your payment only stays in for 3 working days and then it's sent back to social welfare chances are if it's missed consecutively your payment would be suspended

Just had a peep and I see your going to Sth America to volunteer
I hope that goes well for you but don't forget to sign off in your local SW office before you go
You have to be in Ireland looking for work to receive Jobseekers payment
