    Hi,


    I been asked by an elderly relative who has not registered with Irish Water yet to find out some info so here I go.

    They want to register and pay their bill.

    They know they have missed the water grant this year.

    They have received bills this year each bill being €64 and change.

    This charge is for Water Supplied and Wastewater removed.

    They have their own septic tank.  Before I sign them up online they want to know will the wastewater charge be removed and a new updated bill be issued as they have their own septic tank ?

    I don't have their details to pm you so will you please answer on thread.

    Hi prysm,

    Thanks for getting in touch with us.

    We would advise that the account holder call us on 1890 448 448 in order to update the account and ensure accurate billing in future.

    Alternatively, if you and the account holder call us, we can add an authorised representative to the account who will be able to discuss the account and register it with their permission.

    However, if you would prefer to register online, then you apply here using the application number and PIN, which can be found on the original registration pack that was sent to the property. The future bills will reflect the fact that the property has a septic tank and bill for only water coming into the property.

    Although the grant deadline for this year has passed, if an account is registered with Irish Water, the account holder will be eligible to apply for the Water Conservation Grant in 2016 and subsequent years.

    Thanks for replying but can you give me an answer to the question please:

    Hi prysm,

    Apologies for the misunderstanding.

    If you apply online and update the account as having a septic tank, bills will only charge for water coming into their property, and not wastewater, on future bills.

    However, if you would like the current bill to be corrected and re-issued, we would suggest that the account holder call us on 1890 448 448 to amend these details.

    As previously advised, the account holder can nominate a person present during the phone call, with their permission, to be an authorised representative and register the property on their behalf with their permission. During this phone call, the account can be updated to ensure accurate billing.
