    Hi,
Considering moving to Esker woods in Lucan. Got the 25a from town and prob should have got out at penny hill and walked cos the bus then literally went around the houses and I got out at griffeen/elm wood.
Is there another bus that is more direct or should I just get out at penny hill and walk to esker woods?
    Thanks

No bus brings you closer to/from the city I am afraid.

Either 25a/25b to the Penny Hill.

To be fair the people that live along the "all around the houses" route deserve a bus service too!!

If you're stuck trying to get on a 25a/b in the evening rush, another possibility is to use the 66x or 67x which travel along the N4 direct and serve the stop at Esker Lane (stop number 7184). You could then walk through Esker Manor to Esker Woods.

That's surely a longer walk though?

You could also get out at the Ballyowen road junction and walk down - it'll probably be much the muchness as getting out at the Pennyhill. There's no bus runs any closer, other than the 239 which goes to Blanchardstown. Other than a short walk being required, you're well served with buses - if you're willing to walk 10/20 minutes you have all the 25s, 66s, 67s etc. You can also walk through Willsbrook park and get buses that are coming from the Lucan village direction.

The 66x & 67x are a good option in the evening as they tend not to get caught in as much traffic, and tend to be nice big comfortable buses.
