Mortgage Protection Insurance - Scoliosis

    Hi,
I have been declined for mortgage protection insurance due to my scoliosis. I was treated for my scoliosis 20 years ago and it has never caused me any issues since. Due to my scoliosis I have a slight respiratory issue (i.e. lung capacity is not normal in one lung). Again, this respiratory issue does not cause me any issues and any test results come back stable and shows my lungs are working as they should.

I am now in a pickle as my mortgage protection has been declined by Irish Life. I've applied to other insurers but I am worried they will also decline me and was wondering whether other people have been declined due to scoliosis (which a lot of people suffer from). My scoliosis/respiratory issue does not impact my life expectancy and all my specialists state this.

I would like to hear from others if they have faced similar issues and whether they eventually got insurance. This has been going on for weeks and I am now under pressure to close so it's causing a lot of stress!
Thanks in advance for any responses.
