Mexico All Inclusive

Myself and three friends are interested in going to Mexico next summer for a week to ten days and were thinking of booking an all inclusive holiday in a resort in Cancun or somewhere along those lines.

Does anyone have any experience in a holiday such as this? We would be looking for a place that isn't family oriented and aimed more towards adults, obviously parties would be ideal in the resort so as not to have to spend much outside what we would pay for the all inclusive part.

Stayed in an all-inclusive once (not in Mexico, but in the Caribbean). I was bored out of my brains.
I don't think it would work for an adult/party holiday, all-inclusives are generally aimed at families. Also, with all the inclusive food and drink I found security was pretty tight, they do not want any outsiders getting in at any time, day or night. No good for a party vibe, especially if you are looking to hook up.
But really, why would you go all the way to Mexico to be locked up in a resort with other tourists?
Why not find an apartment on Airbnb or something and spend the money you will save out partying with the general populace?

    Totally agree with rojito...

We did AI in Cuba for our honeymoon and it was perfect, given the circumstances as the hotel was a Sandals resort for couples only. All the other AI hotels were very much family orientated and I doubt very much if you'd find the party atmosphere you're looking for in such hotels. Mexico would be pretty much the same. For a group of lads, you might as well be in any old resort if you're doing AI so why fork out to go to Mexico?

Better option would be to find a reasonable hotel in the resort and get out and enjoy yourselves! It's not expensive there by any means.

Check out Secrets The Vine in Cancun it looks like real party hotel, and it's 5* adults only AI. We stayed in Excellance Playa Mujures on our honeymoon which was absolutely fab! It's adults only swim up bar loads fab restaurants & bars & its althou a majority were couples not all were. There was good party scene at swim up bar. It's outside Cancun but the Secrets one is on out skirts as far as I know! Defo go all inclusive it's class!

We went to Secrets Maroma in Cancun last July. All inclusive adults only. Food was great, so many options. Swim up pool bar, room service 24/7, lots of onsite entertainment day and night but not really parties. I really enjoyed it. Very professional set up without the snottiness.
