New Boiler

We've just converted the attic and added a new radiator. The boiler is about 10+ years old but sounds like its on its last legs particularly with the new rad. I've been quoted 2500 for a veissman bolier (SEAI approved plumber) 500 for the full clean and 250 for the magnetic filter.

Just wondering if this sounds reasonable or if anyone has other recommendations in north Dublin. Any advice or pm's with quotes would be great.

Is it 2500 for the boiler install, 500 extra for the flush and 250 extra for filter?

If your getting quoted for a grant job then there must be controls being added to the system too??

ah ok, thanks dtp1979. so with controls does 3250 sound reasonable?

    Thanks a lot.

So am I right in thinking that the grant is not available it without adding in controls.

Exactly. Without the grant, the boiler install, powerflush and mag filter will cost around 2k -2200

Thanks again Dtp1979. I'm fairly clueless on the whole boiler thing. Do you think it's worthwhile going with the controls?

If you can afford it then yes. If he's fitting a viessman, ask him to do it in 4 pipe and fit weather compensation too.
