Looking to Change

    Hi All,

The advice is always pretty solid here so I would welcome peoples thoughts.

I'm looking to change up a couple of years from my 09 Accord and looking at the likes of 2011 CC's. I would be looking to trade in my own against this. The Accord is reliable and is well specced ES GT with Sat Nav and reversing camera and service history. I have spoken to one dealer so far, more of a UK car sourcing specialist in the Munster area actually, and they have said that they wouldn't be interested in taking my car as a trade at this time of the year.

Do people think this is the worst possible time to be looking to change especially given I am looking to trade and is this a likely response from most dealers this time of the year? They qualified what they said with not interested "this side of Christmas". Are they holding off in light of additional depreciation in 2016? I would have thought that there would be an equivalent drop in value in the car I would be purchasing anyway so the cost to change shouldn't alter that much.

    I'd welcome thoughts on this.
    Cheers
    hof

Try other dealers, try selling the Accord privately. One dealer who probably only really wants to sell and not take trade-ins should not set the trent. Accords are not hard to sell especially good speced clean ones.

Ideally I'd prefer to avoid the hassle of trying to sell privately. I'll keep the eyes peeled with other dealers.
