Ok so the things i failed on was the rear fog light which i didn't check yesterday so something minor.

Failed lambda reading 1.21 and should be between .97 - 1.03 which must mean a hole in the exhaust somewhere.

But failed on bodywork where the spare wheel sits had a bit of damage like a crease and it passed last year with the same crease.

So my questions regarding this is has something changed that this crease somehow now during the test is classed as dangerous and if i fix the exhaust will they just check the lambda reading and not the hydro carbons as that was only 19 ppm and as long as its below 200 ppm its fine.

A crease in the boot floor is not normally a failure unless the tester considers it damaged enough to weaken the body structure, however if there is extensive rust or the boot floor could not be examined then the test will fail. What was given as the reason for failure?

Unless they had found the exhaust leaking (which would invalidate the whole emissions tests) they should only recheck the lambda.

For the boot floor damaged/broken, their isn't any rust I can see.

No they didn't note anything about the exhaust, but I do hear a weird noise and both lambda where changed last year.

It's not possibly to retest only lambda. Full emission recheck will be done
