NCT Visual Retest

My car went through NCT test recently and passed except for a tyre pressure light on in the dashboard. They told me to bring it back for a visual test free of charge within one month.

I can switch off the light on the dashboard by pressing a button next to the handbrake. Would this suffice to pass the test? Or would they do a diagnostic test upon bringing it back?

They don't do any diagnostics anyway. Once the light is off it will pass.

I'd suggest you maybe check your tyre pressures first though

They would just look at dash lights on visual inspection. Nothing would be connected to car

    Light off good to go.

No problem, thanks for getting back to me. I'll check that and bring it back.

I'd hazard a guess that that button will only put it off until next time you start the car. If thats the case, it'll fail again as they will check that.
