Rewind Live TV on Amiko 2+ running Enigma 2

I have an Amiko 2+ running Enigma 2. When I press the 'Prev' button, it brings up the "history zap" app/plugin. The rewind button doesn't seem to do anything. Pause takes two/three seconds and an awful jittery one at that.

Is there no straightforward step back? Pause/Rewind live TV is one of the main features I'm looking for. I have another FTA box (Sab Titan 3) and when I press the 'Prev' button, I can skip back 20 seconds. Works perfect.

Am I missing something? Is there a better way to configure this?

Just to clarify something here. I found a definition on avforums which probaly clarifies what I am trying to describe.

Timeshift and Live Rewind are totally different functions of a PVR. Timeshift is the ability to record a programme and watch it at a different time. Live Rewind is when the PVR is buffer recording a channel as soon as you tune to it and allows you to rewind into that recording at a later stage in the programme. Live Rewind varies across the range of PVRs in the settings applied to it - basically the longest period it will buffer and whether (and how much) you can alter the settings for this buffer length.

Not sure how accurate that definition is, but the "live rewind" is the bit I am trying to get right. The live rewind on my Sab Titan 3 works great. As soon as I tune to the channel, it starts to buffer and I can rewind no problem. That doesn't seem possible on the Amiko 2+ running Enigma 2 the way I have it set up currently. Any light shed would be appreciated.

AFAIK Timeshift requires an extra plugin to be installed. I don't use it myself as you rightly say it means the HDD is recording all the time which wont do much for its life expectancy.
