Frequent ryanair passenger here , new beta website is proving frustratingly slow and not connecting flights with their app or upcoming flights section on the new website. This beta version seems like a step backwards. Anyone else having these issues?

People complaining that a magical electronic device that enables purchase a seat in a magical flying machine suspended above by magic for the same price as a taxi home on a Saturday night... is too slow.

There was a time when flying to London was a month's wages.

Write a strongly worded letter to Mr O'Leary

Clearly Ryanair have discovered the beautiful model where you run a piece of software that's "beta" as your production site and as such any customers that complain are simply told that it's still being tested, that's why there are some bugs.

Your customers do all the testing of your website for you and then ring/pay you at 0.15c per minute to report the bugs to you. Means that Ryanair no longer have to employ software testers and their developers can write any aul ****e and release it to production.

Thankfully safety standards exist or he'd try the same with the aircraft.

"Excuse me, my seat belt doesn't seem to close and the distance between the armrests makes it physically impossible for a person to actually sit on the seat."
"Ah yes, you see this aircraft is still in beta testing, so unfortunately some things may not be working from time to time as we tweak things to give you the best flying experience. Thank you for reporting this issue to us and we hope to have this resolved as soon as possible."

This free version is annoying on purpose so you upgrade to the "Economy Plus" version of their website.

Seriously you're comparing testing of a website to how they maintain their aircraft? Ridiculous comparison.

Do you realise how much they value safety as Ryanair know that one accident will hugely damage their business , more so than other airlines.

True that and I'm not sure they do it on any other airline, even Aer Arann! (Not so much insulting AA there as it's another Irish airline so it doesn't seem to be a weird cultural thing).

We really are just that relieved to have survived, I think.

Why can't they fully test a site in a way that will simulate a third of a million bookings per day?

Sorry but I normally recognise jokes by them being funny.

I find the Aer Lingus website just as annoying.

I just use skyscanner to do all the donkey work.

I foretell a €10 fee for using the original website.

normally i just type it like this

    ryanair.com/ie

and it will redirect you to their old site.

I just tested it there by trying to book a flight from Knock to Liverpool and it seems to be working fine.

It does initially, then redirects to the beta site.

I'm with the OP, it's been chronically slow the last couple of times I went to book a flight.

    yeah then just delete the

from the browser and hit enter on

    ryanair.com/ie/en/

i agree that the beta website is very slow hence i always go back to the old site when i make a booking.

I've been onto the Ryan's and for anyone that's interested their advise to use the site on Chrome incognito improves things a great deal.

I find that too the new Aer Lingus website is no different. It's easier to find and input airports and dates but quiet slow.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 121 ✭✭futonic

I think they'll be furiously trying to fix that... I just tried to book a flight as an experiment. Can't get past selecting flights screen. Looks slick, but looks like it has performance problems
