wedding transport - payments

    Hi,

    We are hiring a bus to collect people on the morning of our wedding and bring them to the church, then to the venue & back home afterwards. The bus company we are using are requesting payment at pick up in the morning time. Is this normal?

    I guess I'm a little paranoid of them not showing that night, though of course I have no reason to believe that would happen.

    Sounds reasonable to me. You don't mention a Deposit, but usually it's deposit paid and the balance settled in the morning/return leg of journey



    Why are you doubting they will show up? Book a different company if these lot are so unreliable.
    Or just chill and stop over-worrying about things:P

    They haven't asked for deposit. I'm being paranoid because all other wedding related things are deposit up front and payment after. I'll stop worrying, as i said i have no reason to believe this will happen!

    They're paranoid they won't get paid at all. I know venues that look for their money up to 2 weeks in advance. Nobody wants to get stung. Just pay them.

    Sorry, I was being a bit cheeky with my last reply. I know how stressful it can be!!


    The good thing about paying them in the morning is you know for sure they'll be back to pick up their money and therefore your guests!

    Eh no.....if they got their money in the morning they don't need to come back that evening to pick up their money!?

    It sounds totally normal to me OP. I had to pay every single vendor either in advance or on the day. Usually part in advance and the remainder on the day. Actually the minibus for taking people home at the end of the night had to be fully settled in advance!

    You're correct, I was thinking the morning after, but I realise now the OP means the morning of the wedding.
