In a drunken moment of madness, I stole a pineapple out of a deli shop in Florence. I had asked if I could buy it, the guy said no, so I took that as a challenge.

I stole a bottle of red food colouring from Tesco. I think it was 89 cents. It was the only thing I needed and the queues were mental (before self service checkouts were a thing) and I was in a rush. (It was for a Halloween costume, needed the food colouring to make fake blood)

I might lose sleep over it, but Tesco are thieving feckers with half of their 'special offers' being dishonest pretend discounts (where the non sale item is cheaper than the 'discounted' one)

A crate of Bud from Tesco, just grabbed it and ran. Being a 16 year old with no money nor ID and a bit tipsy leads to desperate measures

Worked in a v. busy spar years back, cigarettes and phone credit, easily made more than my wages each week, went on for more than a year, never caught for it either.
Got talking to girl that was supervisor years later, told me that in one quarter the owner wrote off around €15,000 in stock loss, I can honestly say that my sticky little fingers were the cause of most of it (I was a little bollix when was younger)

As for single biggest stroke? Couldn't be telling that particular one, it's a doozey......

Working in a factory about 2002/2003 and myself and another lad stole 2 pallets of 80gb hard drives... Got 80 quid sterling a piece for them. And I managed to get a pallet of recordable DVD players that I was able to sell on at a bargain of 150 sterling each. 40 of them all sold in less than 48 hours.
Literally 1000's worth of stock in one fell swoop.

Back in the day of penny sweets actually costing a penny, I would go to the local shop and grab a sweet bag, throw a few into them, but also a mars bar and a can of coke. Then go up to the till and say, "10 penny sweets, please". They didn't give a damn so would then just charge us 10pence.

As you can tell, I was a rebel without a cause.

    A copy of FHM.
I thought it would be a once off, but I've found over the years my habit has grown and I feel the need to raise the stakes for higher quality, higher value goods. Don't do it kids, always be honest.

    I'm now doing Time.

i was working for a retail chain that was about to go into receivership and found out the lease was in default on one of the stores. managed to get a lease for the building, little re-branding later i got the store, they had offered to sell it to me for 30k
    more strategic acquisition than theft

Stole a pig's head from a restaurant window in Sth. Korea when drunk one night.

Owner chased me for several hundred yards so I'm presuming it was valuable.

Not one of my prouder moments.

1/3 of a tub of Philadelphia. I bought two tubs; a 200g and a 300g. The guy at the till scanned the 200g twice, thinking they were both the same. I saw him and didn't correct him.

The guilt still eats at me to this day

Accidentally A security tag on my new hoodie from Tesco in carlow. They forget to remove it and the gate never beeped. Not accidentally a tesco basket. This one was missing the security tag ,and I have been using it for years for my shopping.

wasn't intentional but I was shopping a while back and got 2 slabs of Heineken in a certain English shopping chain.

I put my shopping up, and put up one slab, but told cashier that I had 2. She only put through 1 and I realized after i left the shop, but never went back. I think it was like 36 euro or something!!

I've been desparate for drink before, but having some morals and a scrape of decency I simply don't think I would ever resort to budweiser.

A pack of pokemon cards from the shop when I was a wee man, and this thomas the tank engine omnibus from the dentist when I was like, 9? So no idea why I wanted it so badly. My dad found out and the beating I took as punishment, never stole anything again.

A ping pong ball from Nimble Fingers. This is unrelated, and just dawned on me, but why are they called ping pong balls when they're clearly not suitable for ping pong? Or am I the only ones that call them ping pong balls?

I stole a glass flower from someone's grave.

I know that's horrific, but I was a toddler and my parents only realised when we got home. I still feel guilty thinking about it now.

Deftlefthand? No, never done time thank fcukin, years probation is as bad as it got (weed cultivation, never even got to smoke it neither...)

I'm sure the shop owner who had to write off 15000e in lost stock feels the same way...

Parents of thieving little bollixes should be made to pay back in full anything their little bollixes stole

Trying to make excuses now? This wasn't a one off spur of the moment thing like you are trying to make our now - you stole on a regular basis, for a year.

I have no doubt that given the opportunity you would still be stealing to this day if you could get away with it.

    Scrote is right.

Couple of years ago was buying 15 or so bottles of wine as Christmas presents, went up to the check out and handed the woman a bottle, assuming shed see the rest in the trolley, she didn't and I said nothing, strolled out of there with 14 free bottles of wine.
