    Hi.

I've been working at Supermacs for 4 days.

But I've changed my job. (Part Time).

I got it P45 and Payslip. They paid me. But I've been charged emergency tax.

How can I claim back emergency tax ? That was my first job.

Your next job will adjust your taxes after they get your tax cert from revenue. Otherwise you can ask for p21 balancing statement but I think you only do it next year.

Just ring up revenue with your emplyers tax number (HR will have that) and it will be sorted.

As it was your first job, Revenue have no idea who you are or what tax credits to apply so you will need to fill in form 12A.
It's quickest to call in to your local Revenue office, I sent away a form 12A for someone 3 weeks ago and it hadn't been dealt with. She called in to a Revenue office last week and they sorted it there and then.
Ask your new employer for their company name, address, PAYE registration number, your employee number (not essential) before you go in.

They wont give you a cheque for the emegency tax, your new employer will give it back to you as part of your payslip once you are on "normal" tax. They then reduce the amount they have to give Revenue so it all balances out for them too. It wont show up as "tax back". It will simply be part of your net pay. You might see that your PAYE is a minus figure or it might just be that your PAYE figure is a very small amount.

Ok, I almost got you :)

What is PAYE registration number ? Its like my own number ? or my employer company number ?

It's your companies number. It will look like a PPS number.
It's what identifies a particular company to Revenue for registering employees/collecting taxes. Once you have that you wont really need the company name/address but it can't hurt to bring all the info with you as a way to double-check you are registered to the correct company.
