Seller asking me to close dispute

Basically bought a new phone screen for €78 a few weeks ago from etradesupply.com, I've had good experiences with them before, but this was broken.

I opened an RMA with them, and after two refund offers of 35% and 57% I opened a PayPal dispute.

This morning I received and email from etradesupply noting the dispute, and telling me I would receive a refund of 100% of the items value if I closed the dispute with PayPal.

Is this how it would be normally handled, or how should I proceed from here? I'm not sure if I'm throwing away buyer protection by closing the dispute before I'm refunded.

Don't close the dispute until they refund you through the process as once you close it you can't re-open it! If they don't pay you or your not happy with their response (their response through the resolution centre not private e-mails) escalate the dispute and if successful PayPal will recover the money for you and the seller can't stop them!

If they are offering you any full OR partial refund they must do it through the resolution process!

You can always ring PayPal and talk to them direct about the situation, usually speeds it up!

Send all messages through through the resolution centre and ignore private e-mails and send them a message stating you received their e-mail and would like confirmation via the resolution centre of what they are offering as ALL messages through the resolution centre are viewable to PayPal resolution staff-they will all disappear to you (and the seller) if escalated but not to PayPal.

That's just what I was looking for, never had to open a dispute before so I wasn't 100% on it. Thanks :)

Also one final note don't escalate until either you get a response from seller via the resolution centre or you have waited a resonable time for a response but received none to show you are being fair!

If you do however actually get a reasonable response through the resolution centre you still don't cancle the dispute until the payment is made.

By the way, As I stated when you escalate a claim, messages between you and PayPal are not viewable to the seller and vice-versa, however what a lot of people don't know is the seller can request to see your messages so be nice and truthful and don't exaggerate incase the seller can prove your telling porkys!

Unfortunately you can't request to see their messages! Strange!
