Insignia Fuel Filter Change

    Hi,
I changed the fuel filter on my CDTI last night. I pulled out the filter and sat it into my catch tray. I then noticed the white ring (shown in the picture) in the tray but I'm not sure if it came from the filter or if it was already in the tray.

Any ideas, no mention of such a ring in the haynes manual and nothing of note online. https://lh3.googleus...Iw=w364-h647-no

I left it out for the moment, no leaks so far.

    Many thanks
    Darren

I don't think that's off your fuel filter.

Unless it's off the little drain plug in the filter housing.

I'm pretty sure that little ring should be sitting between the filter housing (the bit you screwed out) and the new filter element. It explains why it ended up in the tray ;)
