Going back to college after dropping out

Ok, so I dropped out of my college course in nuig at the start of my 2nd year. I plan on going back in September but I don't know what I want to do. I was thinking about doing commerce in galway but Ive only studied business up until junior cert. I would like to study in nuig but I'm five points off. I'm also don't know what its like starting all over again and trying to make new friends. I'm a shy enough person until I get to know someone then i am chatty. I feel really stressed out and I know if I don't go back in September I'd never go back. I'm still young so I think that is another reason why I'd like to go back as soon as possible. I passed my first year and didn't fail anything. I worked hard that wasn't the problem it was the course that was stressing me because I didn't like it. I stuck it out because i didn't want to disappoint my family after all the money they paid out. Id rather live in the house I'm living in but I think student accommodation makes it easier to make friends but I never stayed in them so I don't know. Any one have any advice for me?

think long and hard about whatever course you'll pick. if you get that right, the rest will fall into place.
there has to be nothing worse than trying to study something you don't like.

student accommodation suits some. you sound like a person who would mix, so if you think you'd be happier in student acc then check them out online.
but, bottome line, only consider going back to college for you. not your family, not for how much it's cost etc. it must be something you want to do and something you want to study.
    good luck

To make it worth your while, OP ensure you study to ultimately achieve more than just the PASS, like what happened in my case many moons ago. Nobody else to blame but myself.

two words op, career guidance, go see a career guidance counsellor before you start a new course, i dropped out of two courses two years in a row, then after the 2nd year went to see a career guidance counsellor, did about 7 sessions with her and figured out what i wanted to do. ended up staying in college for the next 6 years because i loved the courses i was doing. the career guidence i did was free of charge, you don't have to pay for it.

i would highly recommend staying in student accommodation, you are only young once and it is a great way to make friends.
