Anyone see any good deals on gas boilers? Looks like I'll need to get mine replaced and it's another expense I could do without. Thanks in advance.

Good deals usually means corners cut = cheap cheap cheap.
Get a reccomendation from somebody. Make sure the install includes a mechanical and chemical powerflush. Not just a chemical flush

also need mine replaced, just after seeing deals on gasboilers.ie but never heard of them. their quote for an Ideal Logic is a grand cheaper than Airtricity, is it possible to cut corners or be so much cheaper? It's the same boiler with rad valves etc and with the grant.

Yes it's quite easy. Go onto groupon or the likes and you'll find numerous Cowboys offering €39 boiler services etc etc. and there's always cheapskates out there to snap up the offer.
A very quick breakdown. These are the minimum you should spend
    Boiler service 79
Boiler install with mechanical and chemical powerflush 1800
Up to seai grant spec, maybe add another 1500
    Chemical flush..... Waste of money
    Powerflush ....400-600
