Hi my payment didn't arrive in post today, probably because of bank holiday, if it comes tomorrow it won't clear in bank by friday as it takes 3 days, I tried to cash first cheque a few weeks ago in local post offices (D9) but they wouldn't do it, tried GPO and they said it has to be local post office, anyone know where I can get these things cashed officially? Why they don't lodge electronically is beyond me. Thanks.

Is it a Cheque or what form of a thing is it?! Some ATM's around now have a lodgment facility and it lodges cheques and cash to your Bank Account instantly.

Once you have a social welfare card then your local post office should cash it for you.

Both said they didn't have money to cover it, both are quite small.

How much is it for? Surely they would have enough to cover it? If you intend cashing it there every week perhaps they would oblige and have enough to cover it.

I cash mine weekly in my local post office, I'm surprised yours won't do it for you.

Got sorted, thanks. Nice person in one PO who's on afternoons said no problem.
