    Hi all,

I used the ram effect to tease 80 ewes and 20 ewe lambs all in one group

Last tuesday i split the ewe lambs from the ewes and introduced the ram.

Today (7 days later) i have 54 ewes tipped but no ewe lambs yet!

Maybe someone with more expernce with ewe lambs can advise

The ram seems keen and is doing a lot of smelling and small talk ! The heaviest lamb is 60 kg and the lightest is 48 kg.

I can afford to let another week slip, what should i do ?

    Thanks

are they with a mature ram ? The ewe lambs might have a soft heat to begin with so an inexperienced ram might not know their in season ?

Same here and regretting not using a teaser on them, only 2 of 30 tipped but not worrying yet, usually a surge takes place after about 14 days

You may just have patience, at their weight they were probably coming in heat already and you'll have to wait for the 17days to elapse........or else they're like mine, they like to wait for after halloween
