Where in the country are you?
Most shopping centres or if there's a Christmas market near you should be selling decorations shortly.

Cards shops like hallmark and reasons normally have them. I'd say dealz will also have something if the don't already

There's someone on adverts selling wooden ones. Newbridge silverware sells lovely ones for between 10-30 euros.

My son's first Christmas we visited Santa and had the photo set into a bauble for the tree. Now it's our tradition each year with slightly smaller baubles after the main first one.

    Hi op.
My daughters godmother hand painted a decoration for my daughters first Christmas. She brought the child with her for the second Christmas and the child "painted" the decoration herself. My daughter is nine now and they still go every Christmas and paint a decoration. Maybe bring your Godchild and get his/her hand/foot print on a decoration?.

Newlands Cross Garðen Centre always does some xmas decorations for babies.....but to be honest I was in there myself last year and the selection wasn't great...could be different this year, so worth checking if you are in the vicinity.
I would also recommend checking out The National Craft Fair (R.D.S.) in early December. I got some there last year.Think there is also one in Dun Laoghaire (Marine Hotel) on Nov 15th.
