Tax rebate vs Online PAYE

    Hi,

    I am wondering if I could get tax back online from the revenue website or the tax rebate companies do a better job?

    Well that's a real "how long is a piece of string" question. If you are a PAYE worker with nothing unusual in your circumstances then you'd be throwing away good money by paying someone to submit your claim for you. But that's only if you're comfortable and competent to claim it yourself.

    Yes, I am PAYE. Last year we got about 600 quid back from revenue, after filling in Form 12 myself online. My colleague (who works with me with same salary) told me they received 1000 back using the tax company.

    So i am just wondering if online you could claim for everything or not?

    Pretty much everything. Are you claiming tax relief on anything out of the ordinary?

    Also please note everyones tax situation is unique to them. There's no real point comparing yourself to anyone else.

    No, nothing out of ordinary.
