    Hi all,

I'm a hobby cyclist/Sportive rider and looking for advice.
I have a 5 year old Cube Attempt (Alu Frame/Shimano 105), and am debating whether to upgrade the components or take a jump at a Carbon with 105/Ultegra.

I'd be entitled to BTW scheme again so debating just buying new bike and selling Cube. Was looking at KONA Zone, Lapierre, Scott, maybe a Ribble.
Or just upgrade Cube, wheels and some bits and pieces.

    Any advice would be great...

Buy new and keep the other bike for those manly days when you don't want to get the new one covered in muck etc

Edit: by manly days I mean manky days.

    +1

It's really not worthwhile upgrading an entry level bike with new components, unless something isn't working.

Better to put the cost of the new groupset towards a completely new, and superior, bike.

I'm in a similar boat. I'm about the pull the trigger on a Planet X with the 105 groupset (from planetxireland dot ie). When funds allow, I'm going to put the old 105 groupset from my old (damaged and retired) bike onto a new frame. I'll hopefully buy an alu frame then for about €350 or so and use that as my commuter/every day bike. Until then, I'll be commuting on my hybrid.
