For you regulars of the forum, you'll know it involves getting pissed on a weekday when the rest of us are working, and then posting to taunt everyone about this fact, and that you were drinking cheap Scottish gruel.

I planned a slightly more upmarket version of this, a nice dinner, and several litres of wine.

I carefully timed it for this long weekend, that my week would end today, I'd consume said gourmet meal, and then go home and quaff vast quantities of vino.

Did it work? NO :( Got off the phone work wise at quarter to eight, finished work about eleven, and it's only now I'm hitting the vino (sure Backwards is posting his adventures at this hour), so I quit.

On the good side, I'm having a lie in in the morning while the rest of Dublin cope with the train strike :D

Lesson: Never try to emulate those whom you admire from afar. Those who live in Ballygobackwards appear to have a different bodyclock

Backwords Man would never post something that length anyway, with being pissed and endlessly blown over by the wind and all.

If it's any consolation I'm having a cheese toastie and coffee and I haven't finished work yet. Woke up this morning and the greenhouse was in bits, must have been really windy here last night. Had to fix it up and cut the lawn and change the oil in a van before I even had a chance to complain about the hangover to myself.

It's not all glamour here you know! :p

There's a saying around here that goes 'if you get the name for rising early you can lie until dinnertime'

Truth is I'm only an occasional social drinker. I spend more time walking to and from the pub than I so in it. I love my walks :)

It's 10:53am here in Australia and I'm off work because I got bitten by a dog on Wednesday...

Do you think it's ok to start drinking on my own??

    walls or walks?

    Cheers Johnny, edited. :)

Although incidentally I do have the most uniquely coloured walls in Donegal. Eircode is a balls now as I can no longer tell couriers that my house is the one with the coping stones the colour of the Husqvarna logo.

Backwards man does not simply drink tennants lager, he brews the pish.

Remember, he doesn't drink or eat anything he hasn't grown himself.

    He even milks himself

Well, being the lowly backpacker that I am, my only choice at the moment is a 5 litre box of wine...

Grand, 1 box of wine it is so!

    It's called "goon"

5 litres of fruity wine can be bought anywhere from 10-15 dollars. Amazing stuff to say the least!

A fine wine grows in depth after good exposure to the air in a good decanter.

Are you a redbull and vodka type?

    Oh god no!

I'm a guinness and a neat whiskey type... but when in Rome!

I've start getting into pale ales over here actually. But funds are a bit tight at the moment so 5 litres of working class golden deadly will have to suffice!
