Inviting Self.

    Hi all,
I was with two college friends today and they were invited to a party with some of their friends from secondary school who are also doing the same course as I am. This sounded really fun. However I was not invited. When I arrived home everyone was ordering costumes and I thought it might be great to go and do something on this night. I live in a very quiet apartment block in college so I reckoned i needed to start going out and getting to meet new people. I am also quite homesick up there. I get on really well with these two lads and next I had done something I would NEVER do. I sent one of the lads a text saying it was no bother but if they didn't mind could I come too ? I instantly regretted this realizing the awkward situation this could put them in. I guessed it was an oversight but how if they didn't want me there ?
Is there any way to rectify the situation without damaging a friendship ?
    Thanks for any help/advice given.

Why is this a problem I might be out of touch but why is it an issue?

Casually mention that you lose all inhibitions when you're drunk. They'll invite you to all the parties then!

    Have they replied?

Just say, in essence, what you said here: that on reflection you think you might have put them in an awkward position and you feel bad about doing that.

Just be genuine.. everyone's appreciates when someone is straight with them.

You're so very in the wrong place here, you need the Personal Issues board. :)

There's nothing wrong with asking if you can go along too!The worst that can happen is that they'll say an outright no. They will make an excuse if they don't want you to come, they won't be awkwardly putting up with your company for the night if they don't want you there. She who dares wins! I think fair play to you for sending the text and being brave. There sounds like there's absolutely nothing to rectify or put right, the friendship won't be damaged. It's a big deal to you tonight, there's almost zero chance they'll be thinking about it.

When I was twelve I was never allowed to stay up this late on a school night.

I doubt it's a big deal if it's a party especially if you have a vagina.

    Don't ask doesn't get
You did good now wait to see what they reply but unless you are barred you should go to every party you can

If its a fancy dress party, just turn up in a tuxedo with a note pinned to the front saying you are sorry for any awkwardness caused. .... when they ask who you are supposed to be, tell them you're a 'formal apology'.
They'll think you're a gas character and it'll be a great night. Or not. 😕
