Price of Parts??

    How come such a variation in price, in different repair shops,for the same item?

    For example,
    1 chain brake band, and 1 clutch drum for well known make of chainsaw,main dealer wanted 48yoyos plus vat, and the local place,was able to supply exactly the same items for 22??
    Now, a fiver or a tenner you'd understand.but over double the difference??

    Needless to say where I'll be going to in future!

    not doubting your story but were both supplying genuine parts? any chance the main dealer was quoting for fitting?

    Both were exactly the same,(Oregon brand) and,no, fitted myself

    Asked a friend to pick up chain oil in local chainsaw dealer one day. €23 for 5L.

    Exact same product in Muckleys Midleton for €10
