HI, Looking to upgrade my drive to the ping G25, have old fatshaft about 15years old, I play well with this and am consistent with this but am looking for some extra distance. Just wondering if changing to Ping G25 will give a lot more distance. Any advice on this.

Not sure about the extra distance but I have a G25 9.5 with standard stiff shaft and I'm loving it. I won't say it's the driver alone since I also have gotten simply quite a bit better than I used to be but I've never driven the ball better or longer than I do now. The head looks class and the shaft is adaptor fitted too. It won't leave my bag any time soon.

But if you want to play it safe get a G25 and get fitted for a shaft. Nothing wrong with that head for sure but what makes you hit it well or not is the right shaft (for you) in it.

Technology has certainly moved in in the last 15 years so you should notice a large difference, you will probably gain more yards, but don't expect huge amounts, the most noticeable difference will be forgiveness especially seen its a Ping who are known for it.
Any reason you picked the g25? Are you able to hit a few different drivers before deciding?

Thanks for the replays, I hit a few clubs call away xr ping g30 but felt very comfortable wit the g25, was thinking of getting fitted but not sure were the best places to go for this, would mcguirks or halprnny be any good for a fitting?

Go somewhere where there's an actual range to hit in while getting fitted, as opposed to just a fitting room hitting into a screen. McGuirk's in Leopardstown or Cara Golf in the Spawell for example, though I've never used either for a fitting.

I changed driver earlier this year (although my previous one was only 5 years old). No improvement in distance from good strikes, but big improvement on off-centre hits. So while I didn't hit my good drives any further, my average distance did increase.
