    Hi all

well ive found something I have no aptitude for at all, namely plumbing.

I had a washing machine plumbed to the wall, and we decided to plumb a dishwasher in beside it. So I wen to Woodies and bought a load of stuff, and came back to find that some of the connections didnt match the existing pipes at all.

I visited my local builders providers and the guy there was kind enough to point out to me that if i used bits of the old install I could make them match.

Below is a photo of the setup as of now. There is a slight leak from the area highlighted.

I dont have the knowledge or ability do fix it like a pro would.
What i can see in my head is either silicone sealant, or something similar, and just gunk it all round and seal it that way.

Can anyone please point me in the direction of a product that might work?

personally i would actually love to use something like isopon fibreglass on it , that way it would be rigid too, but maybe thats asking too much.

thanks for taking the time to read this,

    regards,
    redd .

The joint should work, are you sure you assembled it correctly with the rubber/plastic wasters in there? Are the washers the correct way around?

If the washers are correct make sure you have tightened it enough? The nut isn't miss threaded?

Some times the washers inside the joint can get snagged / deformed. What I do there is wrap the washer in a good bit of Ptfe tape, lots of wraps covering it and the pipe. I then reassemble the joint.

Ptfe tape is cheap, the white plumbers tape. You can go down the silicone / tek7 route, but best to try the above first.
