my company has recently moved to gmail as hosting service for email
as I work remotely i am using outlook as the email system

However i cant seem to get it to fully sync.
I can send emails but not receive any into my outlook inbox

    using outlook 2007

    set up new account with

    imap.gmail.com
    smtp.gmail.com

    then under advanced
incoming server port 993 using SSL
outgoing server port 587 using TLS

connects fine with a test email sent but still cannot recieve anything
used the two step verification in gmail to set up a specific password for outlook and this worked.

is it something in gmail thats not set up to forward emails?

thanks for any help. pulling my hair out..

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

    Those settings are spot on.

Can you send and receive emails when you log in to gmail online (webmail)?

If so, the problem lies elsewhere, to be more specific: on your computer. Did you (temporarily) switch off your firewall and your anti virus / internet security to test if those are the culprit?

Yes I can send and receive emails in the gmail webmail no problem.

Ill switch off the anti virus and see if that's the root cause.. thanks

You need to use Google Apps Sync for Outlook.

nearly sure there is a setting in webmail that needs to be turned on to work on email clients.
