I know there's another UFC Dublin thread, but it's understandably getting full of stuff from the different events leading up to Saturday now the closer we get, so I thought I'd get the usual event thread up for discussing anything and everything to do with the actual fights and get the main event poll going too. Mods, feel free to merge/delete if necessary.

    ce6cad2eaae5bd01506d005cbb55b151.png

    Date: Saturday 24th October
Times: Prelims (6pm), Main Card (9pm)
    Venue: 3Arena, Dublin
Odds: Poirier (2/1) vs Duffy (4/9)

The UFC have uploaded lots of good breakdown videos and build up etc on their YouTube channel.

Weigh-In Information: This takes place at the 3Arena on Friday 23rd October. It start at 4pm and will likely finish around 4:45pm-5pm. Prior to the weigh-in, there is a ~45 minute Q&A with Max Holloway, Andre Arlvoski and Rory MacDonald which begins at 2:45pm. Doors open to the general public at 2:15pm. You need a ticket to gain entry which are available free of charge from Ticketmaster here.

    * I have a ticket to UFC Dublin, what time do I need to arrive at and what time will the event be finished? - Doors open at 4:45pm with the first bout starting at 6pm. The event will finish at around 11pm.

    * I don't have a ticket to UFC Dublin but want to watch it. How do I do so? - UFC Fight Pass are showing the whole event from start to finish (6pm-11pm). You can sign up and get a 1 week free trial here. Just remember to cancel if you don't want to continue to be a subscriber! Alternatively, 3e will show a breakdown of the event from 8pm on the night and will then have live coverage of all of the main card from 9pm. Setanta Ireland will also have live coverage of all of the main card from 9pm.

Mod Note: Keep this thread for discussing the actual event. All other questions and/or discussion should go in the other thread.

Excellent info as usual Paully. Fancy Duffy KO myself, hope its a KO rather than a sub!

Duffy for the KO, can't wait for this :)

Will be watching it on the TV unfortunately - cheers for the info Paully!

Gonna go with a sneaky Dustin d'arce choke to make it a hatrick of them in the UFC.:p

Nice one Paully, other thread was unreadable for me. This is the first fight poll in yonks where i couldn't pick an instant choice, gonna be such a close fight i think. Could be a ko OR sub from EITHER guy. Will have to have more of a think on it.

Poirier at 2/1 really is worth a nibble at that price.

Let's try keep this thread waffle free and focused on the event itself.

I thought Pendred would be a lot higher up the card. I know he's incredibly dull to watch but i never thought he'd be below Seery and Daly in the running order.

Duffy got a strike to the head in training earlier this week and doc wouldn't clear him.

    ****ing disaster.

Well good news for those of us that feel robbed having to fork out 175+ for such a weak card, Ill gladly cash out and take a refund now :)

    Roll on Vegas

All future polls should have an option 'Main event not to take place'?. Seems only fair

    That is absolutely gutting lads.

Ticketmaster offering refunds. I really don't think Holohan/Smolka is enough of a draw personally.

I love the matchup and you know what, if it had been advertised as Paddy/Smolka all along (with prices reflecting that of course) then I actually don't think it would have been too bad. I know injuries are always a risk when purchasing tickets for these events but considering what we thought we were getting it definitely isn't enough of a draw now despite Paddy being a great guy and someone who will really get the crowd going.

I'm sure a lot of people would like to get a refund but will be in the position of having travel, hotels etc booked.

I should have guessed the card would be too good to be true I suppose. :(

Apart for the refund mention on the UFC statement, can you show what TM have said..cant find jack..i know its early, tho, have they officially commented, ?

Can we officially blame Paully for jinxing the main with his poll?

Dustin put up he is refusing all offers as he trained for duffy. Pearson offered to fight as well. The diamond should have taken that!

Ariel Helwani mentioned it on his Twitter timeline. I'm sure there'll be a forthcoming statement by the UFC and Ticketmaster.

Paully, it does suck a lot of bollocks and while injuries do happen, it's usually not too bad a blow when there's stellar fighters elsewhere on the card to say, "actually you know what, it doesn't look too bad at all".

Smolka/Holohan might be a good fight on paper but it is certainly not headline material in any way. I've no doubt that Holohan is good enough to potentially earn a headline spot on merit one day but I don't see that for Smolka.

Ok, the UFC had to do something of course and it's all they really could do right now.

It's a fight you don't mind seeing opening a main card as was originally the case but there is nothing exciting about that fight whatsoever especially at the end of the night.

It's like riding a really hot bird you somehow managed to trick into having sex with you. You thought it was going to be amazing but you're left wanting a bit more.

That's what this new main event is going to be methinks.

Have a 75 quid ticket myself and feel sick looking at the abysmal card now. Feel sorry for anyone that got 175 and above tickets this card is pure garbage. They can spin it anyway they like Paddy is a nice chap but will only ever be middle of the road. Refund please.

It's UFC policy. Refund offered when ever the main event is cancelled or changed.

I think people are mad to be refunding cheap tickets. It might be a poor card now but I'd rather go out to watch a live fight than watch it on the TV.

Plenty of fighters have offered to jump in, some that would be matchups that make plenty of sense too all things considered. I don't think any of us can realistically blame Poirier for not taking them on short notice. It is disappointing though as a fan.

Nah I'm done, getting my money back.

This card had two big name fights, now it has none.

I'm not paying for tickets, hotels, drink etc for the state of it now.

Duffy is an idiot, how can he let that happen this close.

Would his thinking be along the lines of, IF he beats the man who was the last one to beat THE man(McGregor), its jumping him right up the queue to maybe getting Aldo or Edgar/Mendes loser with a view to rematch against Conor possibly for the title after?

He's in a different weight class now and that logic wouldn't apply anyway.

Jaysus that's brutal. Sorry to everyone that had tickets.

When was the last time the main and co-main were both cancelled? Can't ever remember that ever happening...rotten luck.

Can't blame Poirier for wanting to wait. Perhaps if he had had a couple of weeks he might have taken another fight, but makes no sense just a couple days before. Would have loved to see him fight Pearson though. As for Artum, wishful thinking on his part.

Don't know whether I'll stay up to watch it now!

Ahh yes apologies, I'm not in Ireland. Las Vegas cards are perfect, 9/10 on a Sunday morning. European cards are not ideal.

Do you know how long it takes for the main card to show up on fight pass after it's finished? Few hours? A day?

Its usually about a month for PPV's and cards that are broadcast on FS1/BT Sports.

NOt sure if there is a difference in times for cards like this one that originally broadcast on Fightpass.tv
