Do colleges provide references

I had an interview over the weekend for a part time job. Would the college provide references off my record for a part time job. I wouldn't know any lecturers out of college, so would careers office help me out. I have one from my previous employer, but that was my uncle. They want a college reference in addition.

Did you have tutorials/seminars or labs? Email the lecturer/tutor who took you for small group teaching or your studies advisor and politely ask for a reference. They'll be happy to oblige.
