Optical out on Panasonic TV's

Quick question, on current Panasonic TV's, does the optical out work without the TV's internal speakers switching off?

Older Panasonic's did work like this but LG's switch off the internal speakers when you want to use optical.

    Don't know about other brands.

Thanks in advance for your reply

I'm sure by now you've got the answer but I've never had a problem using the optical out from the Panasonic sets, for me it only knocks out the internal speakers when you've it hooked up to a Panasonic home cinema system AND you set the viera link control and speaker selection to "Home Cinema" other than that both the optical out and internal speakers seem to work fine in tandem. I have a TX-P50GT50B
