Virgin Media are off to a bad start

Have been having issues with my router for the last 6 months - approximately every hour it disconnects for a minute before connecting again. It has been doing this every day, consistently, so it is getting pretty annoying.
I have been on to their (former UPC) customer support twice asking them to resolve the issue but apart from the general crap like, I have restarted your service and expanded the range of your wifi, things didn't improve.
Decided to try them again this morning, with the intention to finally have this sorted. Explained the problem again to a young man with a Northern Ireland accent, who advised the issue is definitely with me and the only thing he can suggest is that I move the router to avoid interference with the signal. I told him the house is small, I have no place to move the router or cables to extend the connection. Explained that nothing in the environment has changed for the last 10 years that I have had the service for. I asked to receive a new router. The answer was that they don't do that and there is nothing more they can do to help. I replied I will be looking for new service in this case. The agent said, This is fine, and concluded the conversation.
The most upsetting thing certainly is that after being an UPC customer for 15 years I am unworthy to be issued new equipment or even have the problem look at by a technical specialist. If I am not happy, I can just take a hike. Well, this is exactly what I am planning to do.

Next time you're thinking of leaving because they're not treating you like you matter, ask them to transfer you to loyalty.

Not being funny but how do you know it isn't an issue with your computer?

I agree. My sil said to me that their Wi-Fi was constantly dropping, YouTube buffering etc and that they hadn't changed anything.

I used an app to show her that all the Wi-Fi channels were being cluttered up from neighbour apartments. I changed get channel to the last congested which helped but it was only when she bought a 5 ghz router and changed to using that that the problems resolved.

indeed 802.11G is crowded. only effective channels are 1,6 & 11. neighbouring wifi will interfere with each other if they are on the same channel.
