Planning issues around replacing prefab house

Hi, what would the position in respect of planning permission be regarding replacing an existing prefab house on a site with another similar structure?

Basically a v small 2 bed prefab house has existed on the site for more than 25 years and has in the past few years become uninhabited and derelict.

It's on an outfarm so would only be thinking of it as a sort of holiday cabin or hunting lodge type thing so another similar structure would be fine. Would this type of thing be planning exempt?

Secondly if it was to be replaced with a more modern log cabin structure (same dimensions) is a full planning application required?

    Cheers.

Planning required alright. As regards getting planning, depends on what it's intended to be used for. Perhaps send in a general query to the planning section of the council to get their thoughts in principle on this.
