I think Kiwayu has been given a serious chance by the handicapper after being dropped 6lbs for his last run. Has won off marks of 85 and 80. Runs off 73 tomorrow and was only beaten 3.75l two runs ago off 80. Missed the 25/1 with laddies but I still think the 20s available is excellent value. As low as 14/1 in a good few books and I had it as a 12/1 shot. 3 Pts win.

For those betting at Ascot, avoid ew PP as they are paying 1/5th, rest 1/4 odds for the most part.

Cracking few cards across the board tomorrow.

    My main fancies:
Ascot 12:45 - Forgotten Rules EW @ 6/1: Won this last year and despite a below-average set of runs this season I think CD form here could see him bounce back to his best.

Ascot 13:55 - Simple Verse EW @ 13/2: This year's Leger winner (although it was under unusual circumstances) should surely run into a place in this albeit very competitive affair.

Ascot 14:30 - Solow @ 11/8: Regardless of whether Gleneagles runs or not I'll still be siding will Solow (although I hope he does run to avoid a R4). Very impressive this season and after his emphatic victory at Royal Ascot I think he can once again prove to be Europe's best sprinter.

Ascot 15:05 - Found @ 4/1, Racing History @ 14/1 EW: Found was very impressive two starts back and despite a poor run in the Arc, I think it's telling that AOB entered her in this tougher race rather than the Mares equivalent she was originally declared for. Racing History is still improving and so I'll have a small bet on in case the improvement is more marked than expected.

Off topic, why does PP never write up the Ascot races in the website?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,702 ✭✭✭tryfix

Solow's form isn't unbeatable. If Gleneagles turns up then he should be able for him and there are a few more in that race that are knocking on the door.

Jack Hobbs should have too much about him and has been too well prepared to not win the Champion Stakes, fancy The Corsican to chase him home.

The write ups are there when i look on my tablet but not on my laptop. Don't know why though!

Strange, thanks for clearing that up :)

If Gleneagles turns up he beats Solow imo, I think he'll have a much better turn of foot, Solow has looked more a grinder but Gleneagles will quicken by him. I took the 5/2 365 were offering. Not sure he will run though.

Meant to be a smiley face not a wink, Once he does not lose a load a lengths at the start and is ridden a bit closer i think 10-1 is a cracking price.

    Brilliant ride by Frankie.

I think MUHAARAR will prove a class above in the sprint.

Went with Great Minds in the sprint. Will love the ease in the ground and will outrun his 50/1 price.

That was too bad to be true from Gleneagles.

Breeding reputation to protect after this years "best ever " he has trained. To be fair, ground unsuitable but I cannot "listen" to his endless hyping, every year he has the best horse he has ever trained. Disappointing race.

Happy to take 14/1 on Fascinating Rock. Think it's a massive price with the way this ground is and considering the draw the favourite has.

Aidan was fair honest in that interview. Kinda got the feeling that the arabs the sponsors may have asked Tabor et al to run...perhaps to keep the stature of the race???

    Glad I cashed out anyway..

Massive gamble landed by Easterby in Catterick. 50/1 into 18/1. Luckily i had a few quid ew at 40/1 :)

Australia used to kick him around the place. For a horse like that Weld was mighty confident of his chances.

Seems that form goes out the window for this race. It used to be a solid enough race when it was at Newmarket, now it's something else.
