I am trying to get internet sorted in a house i am renting near college but it seems all the providers only offer it with 18 month contracts. The problem is we'll be moving out at the end of May when the college year ends. I looked at pay as you go offers but all I could see was 7.5gb for €20 a month. Obviously thats not going to be enough for 6 students in a house. Anyone have any ideas of what I could do? Thinking about just switching to Virgin Medias new 30gb 4G plan and just setting up a hotspot.

Meteor do 50GB for €20 a month for students https://www.meteor.ie/student/.
I think they cap their broadband as well so nasty surprises when the bill comes, 50 GB is going to be tight between 6 students though.

30GB just won't cut it between 6 of you, you'll use within the first week.

To be honest, if you look to cut corners here, you won't get a good service- especially sharing 6 ways. Go for a FIXED LINE simply broadband option, vodafone/pure at around €36/€38 per month. This will cost each of you around €120 including the contract buy-out in May.

Mobile broadband will cause you more hassle, you'll wish you paid the €120 each.
