    Hi Guys,

I had a provisional licence when i was 17/18 and took lessons then (Around ten years ago). I replaced it once when it was out of date (approx 5 years ago). But have since lost the provisional licence and it may well be out of date by now even if I had it.

Unfortunately I never took my test. I don't drive and haven't since i was probably 23 but need to learn (or well, practice and take a test) for work now... Looking for some good news that I don't have to start from the start again. Anyone had a similar experience?

    Thanks

If the provisional was issued within the last 5 years then renew it as soon as possible. If you don't renew within 5 years of issuing then you will have to sit a theory test to get a new permit and complete the EDT course before being allowed to sit the practical test.

Actually, it needs to be expired for 5 years or more before it's not renewable. That means that if the OP renewed within the last 7 years than it would be still renewable AND will have avoided EDT.

Calling the NDLS with your PPS number will tell all. They're on the phone Saturday mornings.
