I passed a cyclist (male) who appeared to have been knocked/hit by car (judging by fact he was lying prostrate and a car had hazards on and was in an unusual position). There were Gardaí on the scene who were attending to him.

It was just at the bus/cycle lane on N4 and the entrance to Applegreen Palmerstown (heading into city) and was at approx 07.40-07.45 this morning.

I was just wondering if anyone had an update or knows if he is ok.

Yes, hope the cyclist is ok. I cycled past there just after 8am and the garda cars and ambulance were still there. They were busy this morning, because there was a collision earlier on the N4 at Woodies. Loiked fairly serious, fire engines and the like.

I'm not speculating about the cause of the collision with the cyclist, but the entrance and exit to that petrol station (and the one before it) are tricky.

That was me, thanks for the concern everyone. Back at work today and feeling shattered tired already.
I got off quite lightly I think, the helmet took a good hit and did it's job properly, the shell is cracked so it's now for souvenir use only, might double as a fruit bowl :)
Other kit damage is the front wheel and my garmin, but they are only material.

Nothing broken in the body, just bruised and battered.
Lying prostrate may have added to the look of drama, some (well intentioned) people on the scene wanted to help me to sit up but given the incident and what I was feeling I wasn't comfortable doing that and opted to remain lying down until ambulance etc arrived.
The other cyclist on the scene was my wife, that saved her receiving a panic phone call.

I won't add to any speculation, so I'll just say that there was a car involved and leave it at that for now.

    Regards,
