I do not think there is any truth in this. My terrier mix dog is sixteen and has been vaccinated every year and is in good shape for his age, thankfully.

My dogs have always only ever had there first and second injections as pups and then regular wormings after that. They lived healthy lives.

Some people say the injections can cause illness and maybe they can but then we regularly dose and inject our livestock with no problems. Up to yourself really.

Vaccinations do NOT cause cancer - whoever told you that is talking out their rear ends. Any time you hear something like "my uncle's friend's neighbour had a dog who contracted leprosy from a vaccination" you should treat it with the respect it deserves.

I vaccinate my dogs every year, including kennel cough since they always spend a week in the kennels. I have always vaccinated the dogs and cats too, for that matter. It's a lot cheaper than treatment for an avoidable disease.

While farm dogs may escape exposure to most of the contents of the vaccines, except Lepto, it means they have no natural, partial immunity should they be exposed. These diseases tend to be fatal, often having a long inevitable course involving lots of suffering. Given the attachment between dog and owner, or the working value, of the dog it's really a straight-forward decision.

    vaccinate the dog here annually.

Get it done here at the house the day we are TB testing the cattle. That way the vet is here, no stress on the dog going to the surgery or having to remember it .

Thats rubbish about cancer or anything else. The one that I would highlight is Lepto as its immunity wanes quicker than, say, distemper, and farm dogs would be a more risk. However these days they all come mixed together as 3 in 1 or 4 in 1 so yes, get it done annually.
