Faulty gearboxes in automatic A4 2012

Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on what I should do with an 2012 A4 automatic which has had 2 gearboxes replaced in last 10 months!! 2 dealerships and Audi Ireland are involved. After a very stressful time and much arguing the gearboxes were both replaced free of charge. However, I was given no explanation and now feel that the car is faulty. Does anyone know what I should do? I feel that they should replace the car or offer value of the car towards the new model. Audi offered to put €1000 towards a new A4 if I trade in. Any help greatly appreciated!!

Legally, they have made good on the repair. If the car is now in working condition then the are in a sound position regardless of your thoughts on reliability or the car itself. In such complex systems, it's often the case that one component failing is masking the issue in another. The first repair may not have been a full gearbox swap etc. I would ask for a complete breakdown of the repair, at least then you have a record of the work and can put your mind at ease.

You can of course sell the car privately, which would probably be my action in such case.

Thank you Ironclaw. Yes, I did get a breakdown from both and 2 new gearboxes were installed both times.

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

Out of interest, were they Multitronic (CVT) automatic transmissions?

I think the Multitronic was the only auto offered in that model A4. That box doesn't have a great rep.
