Looking for something with a bit of grunt in the crossover/Qashqai form. Budget is 20-24K. Seems to very little out there > 130bhp, any ideas?

Shame there's no leather, but has the grunt - might be a bit mileagy, but with a FSH it should be fine for a good while longer. 4x4 as well, in case there is a nasty winter around the corner.

Newer, much lower mileage, and 150ps (but not a Volvo)

Those XC60's are starting to show their age IMO. Good call on the Mazda, definitely a contender.

What about a Lexus RX 450h? good spec and very fast. Maybe batteries would be a concern.

Buddy has a CX7 Mazda 2.3 turbo petrol, plenty over 130bhp but not sure if there are any/many post 2008.

Something Subaru? I have a 2008 2.5XT Forester, 227bhp. Plenty of power when you need it and it sticks to the road with the AWD.

I get the impression the OP doesn't want a big petrol engine.

Willing to spend >20000 on a car but an extra 500 euros a year tax. Hell no. LOL

He want's something powerful, no mention of diesel or petrol. OP, are you looking for a tractor or a car?

OP original post is crossover. No car no tractor as you put it and doubt looking for turbo charged petrol lawnmower with a rated bhp that's only achievable at max rev.

Sent CountingCrows a pm (not sure if it got there as I've never sent one on here) about the same car in blue with added auto wipers, auto lights and sat nav.

He said something in the form of a Qashqai and something with 130bhp+ which has a bit of grunt. There was no mention of something powerful and how many Qashqai type crossovers post 2008 in petrol form are knocking about?

Depends on the OP's definition of high power I guess.

Looking for a diesel this time around. Previously owned a BMW 630 & VW GTI but need something economical. Maybe 'highpowered' was overstating it, anything >= 150bhp would suffice.

What bhp is yours - 150?

So would I. You don't have to look at it when you're behind the wheel. And I'd say it's a hoot to drive.

It'd need to be a damn sight quicker to justify that level of ugliness.

Yeah it's 150. They come in 150 and 175 for the 4 wheel drive one.
