    Hi,

So, I'm 24 and working in a factory for the last 2 years on contract. I only planned on working for a year and saving enough to go to college and I applied for and got a course that I wanted badly and I was due to start this September. However, work asked me to defer my course for a year as they were badly stuck and they didn't want to train someone new up as there was a massive load of orders up until January.

I said I would and I deferred the course, but 2 weeks into September we found out the factory might be closing altogether in January. This was a kick in the teeth for me as I agreed to stay on for a full year and now I could be without work in Jan.

I've been weighing up my options and have thought about Leaving work now and trying to get into college through the Back to Education scheme. I'm just wondering has anybody any info on how hard/easy it is to do this. What are the chances of me actually being successful?

I know it sounds like I'm trying to use the system but I'm fcuked if I've got no work from January onwards as I won't be able to afford college.

    Any help would be appreciated.
