They're alright. The food and comfort is what you'd expect at the lower price. Though sometimes when trying to get the attention of the flight staff using the overhead button it can take them a good 20/30 minutes to assist you, if they even assist at all.

I was told a similar story the other day by a guy just back from the states:(

This also means that you can now fly Dub-Lax direct... Interesting

I think I could stomach getting my own glass of water for the €200-300 difference...

Was ok for Robbie Keane this morning on his way back.

Oh god yeah, like I didn't really care at all. Just noted it was quite inefficient service.

Have been able to since this route started some months ago.

I checked that site, the flights are 1969 zloty - approx €465 euro (using xe.com). However I checked ethopian airlines direct website and found flights for example 12-19 march (Checked a few saturday - saturdays, seem same price) for approx €438 with the "economy promo" selection. Is there any hidden catches etc can anyone confirm?

The only thing to remember is that the seat width on the 9 abreast 787's is very very tight - lesser than you'd find on the Aer Lingus and Ryanair short haul fleet. The 787's were originally envisaged as having a comfortable 2+4+2 configuration but with high oil prices at the time most airliness like Ethiopian went for a 3+3+3 configuration with I think a just 16.9" seat width.

€409 is a return fare and 7 hours less travel time each way.

Not a fan of LA but this fare is very tempting.

I and everyone I know who has used this route just use it as a cheap gateway to get to San Fran or San Diego. Such good value.

These flights are also operated by nice shiny new Boeing 787 dreamliners.

Just to give this a little bump. Managed to score return tickets in August for 530 each. Incredible value for a direct flight in the summer, half the price Aer Lingus were charging for their route "launch" prices. Seems to be plenty of availability.
